*2/20 UPDATE* The Lost Warrior was found at the SF Civic Center Farmers Market this morning by Moses Carbins. Moses guided the warrior to the museum, where they were both greeted warmly with fanfare and excitement. For more details, please click here. You can dance with the warrior at the exhibition opening party on Thursday, February 21, 7:00 pm.

One of our terracotta warriors is lost in the Bay Area. We don't know how, we don't know where, but he's out there and we need your help. Last seen traveling with a small army from China to San Francisco. He's 2,112 years old, 5' 5" tall, mud-colored, and doesn't speak English. Help us find him in time for his big debut in China's Terracotta Warriors at the Asian Art Museum on February 22.

Today, a team of registrars, preparators and conservators began installing a pair of Japanese bronze lions on the museum steps. They ran into some trouble positioning the second lion's ball. What is Asia? Some of the Bay Area's best artists respond to this question in the upcoming contemporary art exhibition, "Proximities 1: What Time Is It There? " Notions of place, time, and landscapes imagined and real are considered. Proximities is a series of three intimate exhibitions offering a multiplicity of perspectives with works that stimulate dialogue around individual ideas about Asia. Proximities 2: Knowing Me, Knowing You examines Asia as seen through family and community (Oct 11–Dec 8). Proximities 3: Import/Export considers trade and commerce (Dec 20, 2013–Feb 16, 2014).
